The district of Pfaffenhofen a.d.Ilm promotes the local economy within the scope of the funds available to it through measures that serve to strengthen economic power, create and maintain jobs and apprenticeships and improve the overall economic climate. Various committees work hand in hand to achieve this.
Economic Advisory Board
The Economic Advisory Board is made up of leading figures from local companies, banks and chambers. The personal and professional contacts and experience of the individual members should be used for the benefit of the local tradespeople. The committee has been anchored in the district council’s rules of procedure since 2012 and is available to the district administrator and the district council in an advisory capacity. It also supports the KUS in its operational tasks and acts as an umbrella body for the trade associations in the district of Pfaffenhofen.

One of the main aims of the alliance is to improve the compatibility of work and family life.

The MINTmaker networkwhich was launched by the Initiative Regionalmanagement Region Ingolstadt e.V. (IRMA) in cooperation with the Initiative junge Forscherinnen und Forscher e.V. (IJF), aims to network, coordinate and supplement offers in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology (MINT) in the districts of Pfaffenhofen a.d.Ilm, Eichstätt and Neuburg-Schrobenhausen as well as the city of Ingolstadt.
The aim is to establish a continuous STEM education chain from nursery school to school-leaving certificate for every type of school and every age, thus getting children and young people excited about scientific contexts. The project relies on early contact with regional companies.
The Berufliche Oberschule Scheyern, which is home to the Staatliche Berufsoberschule (BOS) and the Fachoberschule (FOS), which has existed since 2012, is an important building block in the area of further education.
The BOS offers young people the opportunity to acquire a subject-specific or general higher education entrance qualification after successfully completing their vocational training. In other words, a path that combines vocational and school education on the way to university.
In the 11th grade of the FOS, the focus is on practical training, which comprises around half of the teaching time and mainly takes place in companies in the district. The commitment of the Business Advisory Council in the district of Pfaffenhofen has helped enormously to provide all pupils with an internship.
The good atmosphere between students and teachers as well as the pleasant flair of the school setting in Scheyern Monastery with student accommodation gives the FOS-BOS a very good reputation that extends beyond the region.
The association was founded in November 2013 and aims to promote and support vocational training, further education and training, cooperation between groups involved in school life, school and company partnerships at home and abroad, contacts between companies, internships and vocational schools, the procurement of learning materials of all kinds and the organization of scientific and cultural events as well as the education and qualification of teachers.
The first field of action addressed by the association was inclusion. The aim is to invest in the existing potential of people with physical or mental disabilities, but also those with a migration background, for example.
